I uploaded this for my friend Cara, but I might as well share here as a sort of companion to my last post.
Gardener was a short lived (or possibly meant as a one off) band that featured Seaweed vocalist Aaron Stauffer and Screaming Trees member Van Conner as well as a plethora of guests.
They released one full length, New Dawning Time, in 1999. That is all they did before fading into obscurity despite the cult followings their other bands have. It sounds like a less rocking take on later Seaweed stuff with some weirdness (IE pan flutes etc…) thrown in. It’s a pretty cool record, and definitely worth a listen if you’re a fan of any of the members other bands.
I had typed up a description for this, but it vanished. Also, it took weeks of battle with Mediafire to get this uploaded. So, you’re getting a short “know it or you don’t” kind of description.
Seaweed is one of the best bands to ever come from the Pacific Northwest. For some reason only folks involved in Hardcore seem to talk about them. Or maybe I only talk to folks involved in Hardcore?
two quick notes, the last track sounds like shit because it ripped from an impressively filthy record. it’s live. You should probably just delete it.
Secondly, I named this collection “Got Me a Gig with Seaweed”. If anyone can guess why, they get a gift. Anyone I’ve mentioned the reasoning to before is not eligible
